Well, it’s Friday. Which means nothing if you don’t have weekends off. I don’t have much to say, but I do have a quick story about one of the good things happening over here.

I was talking to a Marine the other night, and he has an interesting job. If our military damages an Iraqi’s property, they can submit a claim to the government and be reimbursed. This guy’s job is to write the checks, basically. I thought that was interesting, I’ve sure as heck never heard that reported on the news.

The same guy told me a story. A few weeks ago, an Iraqi called and said his store had been hit by a mortar, and he wanted to be compensated for the damages. The Marine told him they needed pictures, so this guy sent in some pictures. In the pictures, you could clearly see dozens of AK-47s and mortar rounds. The guy sent in pictures of a weapons cache, which is very much legal to bomb. They arrested him the next day. How dumb would you have to be, to basically tell the government that you’re a terrorist?
