technically if it sould produce uv light and you aimed it at its self it could be a self perpetuating device.

Except for the fact that solar cells are inefficient and it wont be able to generate enough power from its light to keep itself on.

The UV rays would lose their intensity as they struck the atoms in the air, on the reflective surface and in the actual flashlight itself, eventually weakening the rays to the point of visible light. Always glad to ruin the fun!

i figured that out shortly after posting. but technically with just short bursts of energy from say a battery you could technically keep it going
on a single battery from an endless amount of time.

Solar panels don't require UV. Other frequencies work fine. Also, UV isn't changed into visible light by air, reflective surfaces, or flashlights. It's the first law of thermodynamics (the law of conservation of energy) that disallows perpetual motion machines (or self powering flashlights). Sorry to ruin your fun ruining the fun...
